My name is Deepika Bajaj – Entrepreneur, Author, Speaker, Blogger.
Most of all, I am a dreamer who likes to follow her dreams and enjoy every moment of the journey.
My journey began the day I came to this earth. Growing up in India, I had the unique opportunity to grow up in a small town, close to New Delhi, where I met my first teacher, who gave me the confidence to believe in myself. When in my Kinder Garden, I was more interested in sports and was not paying a lot of attention to my education. But my teacher saw through me and she gave me the challenge to become the “monitor” of the class.
This sudden responsibility totally transformed me and there has be no looking back.
I moved on to get my Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Bangalore, India. And worked with some premier Technology companies like AT&T, Alcatel, Bell Labs etc. In my journey, I even got an MBA in Marketing from New York. Working in corporate America, I got many skills.
And then my life took a sharp turn, I started on my entrepreneurial journey. This has been the MOST fun and painful journey I have ever undertaken. In essence, it tests me out everyday and pushes my limits of endurance, focus and commitment. On this path, sometimes I am excited, sometimes I am uncertain BUT for most part I feel alive.
In Oct, 2009, I published my first book: DiversityTweet, Embracing the growing Diversity in our world. This started my author’s journey. I knew I had an author in me but to be able to get a book published was a dream come true. I don’t think this is my last book.
With my company Invincibelle, I aim to bring content and share information with women to be able to empower and inspire them. In this journey, I have met some amazing people who share the similar passion. Sometimes, I get the criticism that women are self-victimized and in this day and age they should be able to compete in the world based on their competency. I believe professional women and women entrepreneurs are far beyond self-victimization – they are looking for the next level to play that game AND become leaders in their domain. So, Invincibelle is a resource of knowledge, expert advise and events that help women PLAY the game all out.
My second adventure is called, ActiveGarage. It is a resource for people to learn from experts who write on different business concerns. I myself write a column on Social Media on it.
Talking about social media, I just love this space. I consult on social media marketing and have been able to help my clients (with the help of my team) build relationships with their target market which is called Social Tribes on social media.
Talking about Tribes, ActiveGarage is also the company behind 99tribes which is Twitter discovery engine for people to find and discover others who share similar interests.
I am also in the process of launching my ebook “PINK and Grow RICH” which speaks of 11 UNREASONABLE RULES for success for women leaders who live and work in a multicultural world. Also I am at work on a second book about my experiences as a global citizen and what is shaping the new voice of diversity.
I was also part of the Personality Project by Rohit Bhargava and featured among the Women of Personality. This gave me the opportunity to learn and share from some really cool women. Ofcourse! personality matters.
I am also working on launching a TV Segment on TVAsia and working on launching a show called, Dream with D – this will a show that will speak to people open to learning that success comes at a price. What price some people had to pay? What personal defeats they had to overcome? What drives them to stay focused? What wealth means to them? How much money is enough?
I won the 2010 IWE Entrepreneurial Achievement Award. I was honored to receive this award. It motivated me to keep moving on my entrepreneurial path.
The little known fact about me is that I love dancing and traveling. Sometimes, I travel to really ancient spots since I am fascinated by history and their stories.
My favorite rock bands are Metallica. My favorite pop singers include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Beyonce and Lady Gaga.I enjoy Bikram Yoga, hiking, cardio kickboxing and swimming.
You can contact me about speaking engagements, workshops and consulting work. I also am plugged in to an entire ecosystem of smart folks who are adding value and change agents in this space.
