Double – Jeopardy

By: admin on Thu 27 Mar 2008 7:53 PM under Business, Globalization, women

1. When women in their professions speak their minds – it is referred to as emotional outburst.

2. When they take decisions on their own – it is assumed that they are not listening to anyone.

3. When they build new relationships – it is thought that they are too outgoing.

4. When women form their own networking groups – it is referred to as being male-bashing party.

5. When women take stands in business and life – it is referred as she is too aggressive.

6. When they learn more – they are not considered an asset but a threat.

7. When they take their lives and careers seriously – it is considered uncool and unfeminine.

8. When they make mistakes – it is not considered learning, it is considered over-exposed.

9. When they change with times – it is disrespect to culture.

10. When they become independent – she is too Modern.

This is double-jeopardy. If we want to have a gender-neutral workplace and business relationships. We need a level-playing field.

I loved what Esther Dyson said when we asked her :

What advice would you want to give to young women today?

Listen to my advice, listen to other people’s advice, and then make up your own mind! It’s your life to live, so you are the best judge of the right strategy.
