First time entrepreneur : Executive summary dilemma

By: admin on Wed 19 Mar 2008 2:38 AM under Business, Entrepreneurship

For over more than a year, I have bootstrapped the company. Like all good things, my personal investment and investment made by my advisor has come to an end. So, here we are with a vision so grand and lacking couple of grands to keep building on the momentum we have.

Last month, I spoke to many people about investment opportunity in our company. No, I have not met my angel yet.

Though, I like the word ‘Angel’. In this situation, when they show up, they do show up as an ‘Angel’. What a genius who coined this term?

Like most of the first time entrepreneur in this situation, I started writing an Executive summary.

Here is the dilemma:

1. Validation points: We can only validate what we have today. What about things we want to build? How much revenue is enough to validate?

2. Scalability and growth: Is it % growth in unique visitors? Is it multiple revenue streams?

I feel Executive summary is a work-in-progress kind of document. One can use it to plan ahead. If it will ever be ready, I don’t think so…

Any thoughts?
