How to face problems?
This is tough economy. Last night, I got a few mails from my friends who were either anticipating a layoff or had been laid off. A lot of us are looking at the problems that are arising from this economic meltdown and are getting concerned about how it will impact us.
My thinking is that we need to have a better look at what we call problems.
1. Don’t call them problems – call them challenges: A lot depends on how we say things. We call a situation a problem then the way we will act in it will be based on frustration and disappointment. We should call “problems” – “challenges” and this changes how we orient ourselves to act. A lot depends on how we say things – so call them “challenges”.
2. Read about your role models: This works wonderfully. All your real life heroes had to face many challenges. I like to read about my heroes and learn from them. They always acted to take care of things and never felt victimized.
3. Take care of yourself - When faced with tough times, we give up eating, exercising and relaxing. This is an important time to take care of yourself and not take your family and body for granted.
Definitely, write to me if this is helpful….

#DIVERSITYtweet Book 1
With the current globalization and technological advancements, we are seeing an exponential growth in diversity in our world. People are transcending cultures and geographies and are embracing diversity in their experiences and interactions with others. Most importantly, this book is a thought provoking resource for managers and those who work with a diverse group of people, be it in the workforce, community projects, team building assignments, social gatherings, or business meetings.
