On becoming Fearless

By: admin on Thu 16 Apr 2009 8:54 PM under Business, General

I am reading the book written by Arianna Huffington, On becoming Fearless …in love, work, and life

Since I am a true believer in courage, this book brings forth for me how we have culturally evolved to be fearful as women.

Here are some cool women and what they say about being fearless from the book:

Nora Ephron: ” I was a tomboy and an athlete, and my parents were determined that all their children (four girls) be exceptionally brave about their opinions, etc. I’m a great admirer of that virtue called manliness, which is highly underrated in women, and to me includes choosing to be brave rather than fearful.”

Melina Kanakaredes: ” Fearing that I’d never be the person my grandparents sacrificed for, I went to college and received both a BFA in musical theater and a minor in psychology. Fearing the idea that I would never get the opportunity to act on stage professionally, I moved to New York after college. Fearing that I’d get used to quick cash, I allowed myself to work only three days a week at my “day job”. Just do it! Get Scared! Shake things up a bit. You can’t win a lottery without buying a ticket.

So, learn from the best on What Fear can mean and do?
